A few giggles from a recent gig

I kinda like the exaggeration, but I gotta start playing more with the backgrounds.

A True T.V. Western

I was never a huge fan of T.V. westerns. There seemed to be a lot of them made during the 50's and 60's. There is one western that seems to be more realistic than all the rest when it comes to what it might be like living in those days- Gunsmoke. Gunsmoke seemed to make you feel what it would be like to actually be there in the hot, uncomfortable, untamed West. All the other westerns (Have Gun Will Travel, Maverick, Wyatt Earp, The Rifleman, Bonanza, and especially the Wild Wild West) seemed to portray everyone as always being neatly groomed, never sweaty, and neatly dressed. Whereas Gunsmoke (especially the later episodes) always had people with sweaty brows, dusty clothes, and tossled hair. I mean let's face it- they didn't have air conditioning back then, they wore three layers of clothes and had to fetch water when ever they wanted to wash anything. Gunsmoke was never my favorite western for several reasons. I guess the grime factor was one of them.

Odo sketch!

This a cool little website that I discovered via Joe Bluhm's blog. Check it out for yourself http://sketch.odopod.com/ ! This was done using a mouse since I don't have my Wacom hooked up to the main computer that I use. Oh well.

Never Forget

I've been pretty serious on my blog about things that concern the country as of late, but let's not forget the people who lost their lives that fateful day and pray for the families that still grieve their losses.

Change? It may be all your left with..

I'm not trying to be overly political. I'm really not. But this is going to impact America for generations to come, and I hope people will have the eyes opened before it's too late. This audio is from 1961. The change that is being done in Washington is the same things that have been tried time and time again in America over the years. Good old-fashioned socialism. The audio really gets to the nitty gritty of socialized medicine around 6:26. If you truly want to understand socialized medicine please listen.

Okay so this isn't about art, but....

it IS about the future of America, so I hope someone will take the time to watch this so that eyes can be opened as to what's going on in Washington while we go about our daily lives and routines. This is from ABC news 20/20, that's right- ABC news. Well, it's good to see John Stossel hasn't put their brain in a jar. Although this may get him kicked off the network. Who knows?

A new trend?

I guess the news is true. The Walt Disney Company has taken over The Marvel Comics Group. I began thinking (look out- dangerous things can happen)- "What if cuddly cartoon characters (Garfield, Snoopy, Smurfs, Care Bears, etc.) merged with gruff and tough superhero types (Thundercats, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, G.I. Joe, Transformers, etc.) Well, I hope this cartoon gives a little idea to what it would be like. I certainly hope that, eventhough they are joined business operations, Disney and Marvel will keep their characters and products seperated. We can only hope!
